A Fresh Love Song Every Night

Sometimes in the moonless darkness -

Lamp posts peeping in

Through the slits in the blinds

Marveling

At the flawless geometry of your body;

Watching me watching you

In equal amazement.

And at other times

The dim stars mesmerized;

Gazing from

Behind autumn trees

As your copper body melts into mine

In an immaculate

Unbroken pool of moonlight.

.

Nothing new -

Used words,

Seen, identifiable images,

Music as old as music itself -

Yet a fresh virginal love song

Every night.
